The Angus policeman cruised to victory in the w orld i ndoor b owls pairs with Stewart Anderson.

The pair won the same event in 2016.

Police officer Burnett, also the 2014 w orld i ndoor singles champion, missed last year’s event following a broken arm picked up in the line of duty just a few weeks before the championships were set to take place.

But he arrived in Great Yarmouth aiming to make up for lost time with he and Anderson claimed success in England after a thrilling tiebreak win over 2021 winners Mark Dawes and Jamie Chestney.
