Sea and coast inspired art exhibit

The current exhibition at Ashbrook Nursery café by Arbroath, features work by local artist and designer Anne Murray.

The collection celebrates the colours and textures of the Scottish coastline underneath ever-changing skies and is inspired by her fisher ancestry and the landscapes where she grew up.

Anne studied printed textile design at Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and Design, graduating in 2003. She then worked as a product design manager for a company specialising in the design and manufacture of packaging and gifts for many large high street retailers and spirits industry.

She said: “I love working with the textiles I have printed and using them as collage within my paintings. This layering allows me to capture the essence, textures and patterns of the beautiful Scottish coast line.”

The exhibition runs until October 31.Anne also enjoys teaching at an art group on Friday mornings at the Guide Hall in Arbroath. Details can be found on her Facebook page FB/artistandmakerannemurray.
