This year a more schools than ever took part with teams of four, plus reserves representing Strathmore, Whitehills, Inverarity and Langlands Schools from Forfar, as well as Aberlemno and Tealing Primary Schools.

The large turn out was welcomed to the night by Jim McCluskey before the competition began, thanking parents and teaching staff for their support.

Then question master Scotty Ballantyne started off the serious part of the evening.

The enthusiastic supporters cheered and encouraged their schools through round after round as the wide variety of questions caused puzzled faces - mostly among the adults in the audience!

All the teams performed well, but eventually there had to be only one winner and that team was Langlands Primary School.

It meant that the school narrowly retained the trophy for another year.

President David Stobbs did the honours, thanking the supporters for their attendance and continued encouragement of the pupils before presenting the Rotary Club trophy to the winning team.
