On the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4, visitors can wander through the village and chat with our fisher folk, teachers and minister to learn about the history of the village from 11am to 4.30pm on both days.

The event, organised by Heritage Auchmithie Arts Residents (HAAR) will also see fishwives tell how they baited lines, launched the men’s boats and show how they smoked fish in a barrel.

The Minister from 1886 will greet visitors at the Church, where the village Archive Collection will be available, and stories will be told of local superstitions and his substantial challenges in keeping his congregation away from the alehouse along with the dancing going on in the village hall.
