Two men arrested and charged after drugs worth £945,00 seized

Police seized drugs with a street value of around £945,000 have been recovered following intelligence-led searches in Monifieth and Dundee.

On Thursday (September 7) a van was stopped on Mackintosh Patrick Drive, Monifieth, and quantities of diazepam, cocaine and a three-figure sum of cash were recovered.A car, on Lorimer Street, Dundee, was also searched and a five-figure sum of cash was recovered.Drug search warrants were carried out at properties on Lorimer Street and Ballindean Road, Dundee. Quantities of heroin, cocaine and cannabis were recovered. Two men, aged 43 and 23, were arrested and charged, and were due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on September 8.Detective Inspector Julia Ogilvie from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit in Dundee said: “This operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.”
