Its goal has always been to produce fresh, top quality, healthy products using an array of vegetables grown on site.

Upper Dysart Larder’s Root Veg Mash has been championed by Scotmid for its 35-day shelf life thanks to its vacuum-sealed packaging, which is helping to limit food waste.

The family business is committed to ensuring longevity with its products – extending the life of its vegetables and incorporating new processes to reduce wastage and take care of the environment.

Andrew Stirling, Co-Founder of Upper Dysart Larder, said: “As a family-owned business, we’re thrilled to be recognised by Scotmid and see our Root Veg Mash win a promotional listing in its stores.

"After working with the retailer during Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight with our Chorizo Mash, we were impressed with how Scotmid had such a close working relationship with its suppliers and were eager for the opportunity to broaden the reach of our product and see it in the hands of Scotmid customers again.”

The competition, run in conjunction with Scotland Food and Drink, champions local producers and demonstrates Scotmid’s genuine commitment to Scottish sourcing and suppliers. Upper Dysart Larder’s Root Veg Mash and Cheesy Mash is now available in Scotmid stores.

Jessica van Tromp, local sourcing manager at Scotmid, said: “We are always looking for new ways to diversify and grow our Scottish product portfolio, so we are thrilled to introduce Upper Dysart Larder’s Root Veg Mash across our stores.
