Angus distillery to host networking event for food and drink producers

Arbikie Distillery will this month play host to some of the finest food and drink producers from Angus, Dundee, Perthshire and Fire for a networking event at its premises near Montrose.

More than 30 producers will attend Tasting Tayside and Fife, an event allowing buyers to sample the areas’ best produce and connect with suppliers.

The free to attend event will take place on Tuesday, June 13 from 9am to 12pm, and local buyers are invited to go along to sample regional food and drink as suppliers showcase their produce and network with potential partners.

Events such as Tasting Tayside and Fife allow chefs, retailers, distributors and anyone who sells or serves local produce to meet with regional food and drink producers with the potential to form business partnerships and increase the number of local products on local menus and shelves.

Tasting Tayside and Fife is supported by Scotland Food & Drink and is jointly run by Food from Fife, Great Perthshire, Eat and Drink Dundee, and Appetite for Angus.

The event will also feature guest speakers including Will Docker from Balgove Larder, near St Andrews, one of Scotland’s highest profile farm shops. Will will discuss the importance of local when selling food and drink. This will be followed by Ernie Millar, Key Account & Liaison Manager with foodservice supplier at Mark Murphy, who will give an insight into wholesale distribution.

The event is run jointly by the regional food groups across the Tay Cities region: Food from Fife, Great Perthshire, Eat and Drink Dundee and Appetite for Angus.
